Brief Description
Applications are invited for a Post Doctoral Research Associate in single molecule force spectroscopy at King`s College London, to be taken from November 1st. The successful candidate will hold a joint appointment between the Department of Physics and the Randall Division of Molecular and Cell Biophysics.
The postholder will perform original research on the dynamics of single proteins under the effect of a constant pulling force. In particular, the candidate will mainly work on the enginneering, cloning, expression and purification of the polyproteins required to conduct the spectoscopic work. The candidate will be physically based in the Randall Division of Molecular and Cell Biophysics within the School of Biomedical Sciences at the Guy`s Campus of King`s College London.
Details
Candidates must hold a PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related, including relevant research experience in polyprotein engineering and enzyme catalysis. Additionally, the postholder should have experience with single molecule force spectroscopy AFM in the force-clamp mode.

Salary
The appointment will be made on the Grade 6 scale, currently £30,870 per annum, inclusive of £2,323 London Allowance, per annum.
